Terms and Conditions
-
Competitions will
be held for three age groups, namely Sub Junior, Junior, and
Senior.
Sub-Junior
date of birth between
01.01.1995 and 31.12.1998
Junior
date of birth between
01.01.1991 and 31.12.1994
Senior
date of birth between
01.01.1983 and 31.12.1990
Organisers will hold the right to verify the age wherever necessary.
All participants are hereby advised to carry an age verification
document (like Passport, Residence Permit, Birth Certificate, etc)
as proof for their entries at the time of registration.

Eligibility for
participation is defined as follows:
a. Non-resident Indians;
b.
Resident Indians who have attained first position in the
respective events at the district level in the
preceding/academic year.

Competition will
take place only if the entries are four or above as on the last
date of registration for each and every item listed in annexure
1.

One individual can participate in a maximum
of four single events and one group event. However a maximum of
two additional options may also be registered provisionally in
the order of priority, which will be kept open until
registrations are closed. If the minimum entry requirement is
not met in any of the registered items, registration officer
will personally contact the participants within three days after
the official closure, to
intimate the changes in their entries.

All events are
common for males and females. Group events may be performed
jointly or separately among males and females.

Light music is to
be performed without track or background music. Participants may
use any language.

The language for
the Elocution competition shall be English, Malayalam or German.
It will be conducted as one single event for all these
languages.
-
For elocution
competition, three selected topics will be announced three days
before (i.e. on 29thJuly 2009) and will be published in the “Pravasimela
Website” www.pravasimela.com. One of these topics will be tossed
out in the morning of the day of the competition and will be
displayed on the notice board.

duration of each performing event, please see annexure 1.

In folk dance competition, only pure folk
dances will be allowed.
-
For cinematic and/or group dance event, a
minimum of three participants and a maximum of ten participants
will be allowed. In this event, the lower age limit may be
waived enabling them to contest in the next immediate higher
group (and not vice versa) under intimation to the registration
officer. Any type of Indian song may be used. The stage
arrangement is the sole responsibility of the participants. A
maximum of 4 min. will be allowed in total to set up and clear
out the settings. It is advised to contact the stage manager in
advance in order to get a clarification in this regard.

Background music,
track music, etc. wherever applicable as per rules should be
recorded in CDs (only one track per CD) and should be submitted
to the stage manager, at least thirty minutes before the start
of the item on stage. Audio cassettes and MP3 format recordings
won't be allowed. Organisers will not be held responsible for
any malfunctioning of the CDs provided by the contestants.

Points based on positions are as follows:
1st Prize = 5 points
/ 2nd Prize = 3 points / 3rd Prize = 1
point.

The name in full,
address, date of birth, names of items for participation,
telephone number, e-mail-id., etc. may be registered online or
by post on or before 31st May 2009. Those who
register online are expected to make use of the registration
form published in our “Pravasimela Website” www.pravasimela.com.
The registration will be duly acknowledged. All participants are
requested to reconfirm their registration details, not later
than 15th June 2009, by contacting the registration
officer directly via telephone.

As a general
rule, no professional performers are allowed to contest.
-
A strict time
schedule will be maintained throughout the Pravasimela.
Contesters are expected to report to the stage manager 30
minutes before their scheduled stage appearance. Contesters who
fail to meet this requirement will run the risk of not getting a
chance to perform their item on the stage.

Judgement will be
based on pre-defined criteria for all events. Criteria will be
provided to the jury as well as to the participants (will be
published in the “Pravasimela Website” www.pravasimela.com) in
due time. The verdict of the jury will be final and
unquestionable. Participants or their parents/guardians are not
allowed to contact any jury member regarding any judgement
issues.

Any queries and
complaints during the days of the event should be placed to the
Appeal Committee.

Any dispute
corresponding to the Pravasimela shall be referred to the
Executive Committee of KELI Switzerland in writing. The decision
of the Executive Committee in this regard will be final and
binding.
